From the moment I decided to create this product, it’s been a labor of love! For me, this isn’t just a product for people to buy, it’s sharing the gifts & talents God has given me. My vision is to always convey truth and positivity. Every step and every process of this product is created through integrity and trust.
If you take a look at the logo, you’ll see a hummingbird on the left side. Humming birds symbolize joy, resilience and adaptability. That’s what I want my brand to represent. That’s why I made a decision when I began creating this product to give 1% of sales to charity. More and more people in this world we live in NEED help. 1% may not change the world but it will make a difference..
My Story
Hi, my name is Glenda and I’m the creator of Some Uh Dat Butta. Let me tell you a little about myself. I enjoy reading, cooking and organizing. Staying healthy through diet and exercise is a passion I share with my two sisters. I have 2 sons and 2 adorable granddaughters. We have a small but extremely close family, so we stay constantly connected. When I’m not spending time with family, I’m enjoying the flexibility of retirement. I retired after 35 years of retail management a couple of years ago.
Being retired has allowed me to focus on things that I didn’t have time for when I was working. One of those things was my hair. As I started focusing on the upkeep and maintenance of my natural hair, I began to experiment with making natural hair products from scratch. Whenever I made a batch of my homemade hair butter I would pass it out to family and friends to try because I always had more than enough for my own hair.
To my amazement they were coming back for more! But that wasn’t the best part. The best part was that they were not only using it on their natural hair, but they were also using it on their feet, their hands, their knees and elbows; even their small minor cuts were getting healed. I knew I was on to something because I had created a non-whipped butter for EVERYTHING! Whipped homemade hair butter typically lasts 3 to 6 months. Since my butter isn’t whipped it can last up to 2 years or more. When they kept telling me I should sell it, I kept telling everyone that I’m not going to sell it until I can create the perfect formula… And I did FINALLY!

My Thank Yous
When I made the decision to sell my butta that’s all I knew… Literally! I had absolutely no idea what it would take to create this product from scratch, let alone the fact that being on social security did not afford me the luxury of hiring professionals. This was strictly a low-budget launch and with no experience nor much money I reached out to family and friends for help. The overwhelming support I received was truly a gift and a blessing. My family and friends really rallied around me when I needed it most. Thank you, FAM!!
I cannot conclude this thank you without specifically thanking my two special Robins. The first thing I had to do was create my logo. Robin Swann brought my handwritten (because I’m old school) notes on paper to life. She listened to every word and description I gave her and brought my logo to fruition! I’m so happy you were the vessel chosen to fulfill my vision and begin this journey from my heart to yours. Thank you!!!!!
Lastly, and definitely most importantly my sister Robin Bonds, my big Sis, showed up and showed out for me. She did absolutely everything from all the admin work, website construction, editing, photography, printing… so much I can’t list it all. You brought every aspect of my vision to life. Without you this launch would not have happened. Period! I love you Sis!!
